Benefits

The benefits of Taekwondo, much like any other sport or martial art, are many for both the body and mind. For example...

Weight Loss and Muscle Tone

Taekwondo is a cardio and strength intensive sport that boosts metabolism and muscular endurance like nothing else. It is a truly effective full body excercise.

Perfect for everyday life

Including Taekwondo in your weekly schedule is beneficial not only for a welcome change in a monotonous routine, but additionally gives you the strength and flexibility required for a long and healthy life.

A new social experience

Become part of a whole new group of like-minded athletes. Perfect for making new friends, getting accountability partners for your training sessions, taking part in group events, and just having fun in general!

A way to give back to your community

While the sport of Taekwondo may seem all about improving oneself at first, it is much more than that. It is an activity in which members get together to motivate one another, and even give back to the community around them through charity events, teaching core values to children, etc.

What to expect

Taekwondo practitioners train in a training room called a Dojang. Equipment that the practitioner must own generally consists of a uniform (Dobok), head, torso, mouth and groin guards (hand and foot guards optional/dependent on level of competition), and one of 9 colored belts according to your level, which are usually provided by your teacher.
